No i think its because of the old version of the cheat mod its 0.17 and the game version is 0.18. I reextracted without mod and it works fine now.

When it comes to mods, any that needed to be updated with each release can not be safely used in future releases of a game, unless they have been updated.
I would not count on Lain's mods for any of the games that they made mods for, being updated any time soon, if ever.
If it's for the mod don't hold your breath, JGNeon said he would look at it but it is quite complicated to do.

This is the second time that the developer of the mod has disappeared for months on end without a word to anyone.
That being said, it is unlikely that you will see the mod being updated any time soon, if ever again.

mod developers are even more fickle than game devs, they might make a mod but it's unlikely they'll ever finish it

The mod also contains lots of deleted scenes, as well as cheats, encyclopedia, guides and new scenes "lains new scenes". i'm gonna miss the scenes the most.

i also believe if i remember correctly, that saves made with the mod in ver 0.17.2, is incompatible with ver 0.18... unfortunately

I have seen multiple reports of that issue having been fixed for 17.2 by Lain.
So, the saves made in 17.2, with the 17.2 mod installed, should now work correctly without the mod installed.
